Hi, I'm Peter.
I build sports video software. I'm interested in AI and computer vision applied to sports: tracking athlete performance, training, and measuring what actually happened in a game.
Work
HighlightLab
Live on iOS
Record a basketball game and HighlightLab detects the players and made shots on device, then builds stats and a highlight reel for every player. For players, teams, leagues, coaches, and parents.
Parnon
Live on iOS
Record a drill, get an instant measurement, and track progress over time. Computer vision covers basketball and football drills plus the athletic movements behind them: vertical jump, sprint times, and agility. Manual tracking handles the rest, including injuries.
HighlightLab: How it started
HighlightLab started because I play in the HBL, a rec league in the Chicagoland area. We tracked stats by hand and had no film at all. So I built it, and we started running the league on it in Season 5.
My AI model tracks every made shot, so every player gets stats, a game log, and a clip by clip highlight reel. Here's mine.

Builds
Other sports related projects I've built.
Basketball Rebounder 1.0
Built out of PVC pipe and netting. Catches the ball off the rim and funnels it back to the shooter.

Football Passing Machine
Fires passes out to you, with an Arduino spacing them out, so you can work on receiving the ball and taking a touch or shooting.

Basketball Rebounder 2.0
Telescoping poles extend up so the netting catches the rebound, then motors pass the ball straight back to you.
